ACROMED HEALTHCARE Technologies Limited

General Questions

Everything you need to know about working with ACROMED

What brands of medical equipment do you supply?

We partner with several reputable international manufacturers to offer a range of equipment suited to East African healthcare settings. Our primary partners include Mindray (China) for patient monitors, ultrasound systems, and haematology analysers; Contec (China) for vital signs monitors, ECG machines, and patient monitoring accessories; Shenzhen Medical (China) for digital X-Ray systems and imaging equipment; Locmedt (China) for clinical chemistry analysers; Zeiss (Germany) for microscopes and laboratory optics; and DLAB (China) for centrifuges and general laboratory equipment. We select each brand based on product reliability, availability of spare parts in the region, manufacturer support and training, and value for money. We also source consumables and accessories from specialised suppliers to ensure compatibility with the equipment we supply.

Do you offer installation and training with your equipment?

Yes, every piece of equipment we supply includes professional on-site installation and hands-on staff training as part of the standard package. Our installation process covers site assessment, equipment setup, calibration, performance verification, and integration with your existing systems. Training is conducted at your facility by our biomedical engineers and covers daily operation, alarm interpretation, cleaning and disinfection, basic troubleshooting, and safety procedures. Training sessions typically last two to four hours per device depending on complexity. For larger facilities, we offer train-the-trainer programmes where we train senior staff who then train their colleagues, ensuring competency across all shifts.

What warranty do you provide on medical equipment?

All equipment supplied by ACROMED comes with a minimum 12-month warranty covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. Extended warranties of 24 or 36 months are available on selected product lines including patient monitors, ultrasound systems, and laboratory analysers. Warranty covers repair or replacement of defective components at no cost to you, with our service team handling diagnosis and on-site repair to minimise equipment downtime. Warranty does not cover consumables (such as electrodes, sensors, cables, paper rolls, and reagents), damage resulting from improper use or handling, power surge damage, water or fire damage, or unauthorised modifications or repairs. A detailed warranty certificate is provided with every delivery specifying coverage terms and the procedure for requesting service.

How quickly can you deliver equipment to my facility?

Delivery timelines depend on your location and the type of equipment ordered. For in-stock items within Kampala, delivery is typically completed within two to three business days of order confirmation and payment. For upcountry districts, delivery takes five to seven business days depending on distance and road conditions. For items that need to be imported or special-ordered, we provide an estimated delivery timeline at the quotation stage, typically four to eight weeks from order confirmation depending on the manufacturer and shipping method. We provide tracking information for all deliveries and coordinate with your facility to schedule delivery at a time when your team is available to receive and inspect the equipment.

Do you service equipment that you did not supply?

Yes, we provide maintenance, repair, and calibration services for most major brands of medical equipment, even if the equipment was originally supplied by another vendor. Our biomedical engineers have experience working with a wide range of diagnostic imaging systems, patient monitors, laboratory analysers, surgical equipment, and general medical devices. We assess each piece of equipment to determine the scope of work required, provide a quotation for the repair or service, and carry out the work at your facility whenever possible. For equipment that requires specialised parts or manufacturer-level diagnostics, we coordinate with the original manufacturer or our network of authorised service partners to ensure the repair is completed correctly.

What payment options are available?

We accept the following payment methods: bank transfer to our company bank account (details provided on the invoice), mobile money (Airtel Money and MTN Mobile Money), and instalment payment plans for larger equipment purchases, subject to agreement and a deposit of at least 50% of the total value. Payment terms for government and institutional clients can be arranged on a case-by-case basis, subject to purchase order and credit approval. All prices in our quotations are in Uganda Shillings (UGX) unless otherwise specified. We provide detailed invoices and receipts for all payments, and corporate clients can request pro-forma invoices for budgeting and approval purposes.
